Under my leadership, the PYLUSD instituted permanent live streaming of Board Meetings for transparency to our community.
With my guidance the PYLUSD returned Middle School Sports to our middle schools which had been removed in 2009 by previous administrations. The most recent additions to the program are Boys/Girls Wrestling and Girls Flag Football.
Partnered with the Nixon Foundation and Nixon Library to provide five high school students summer internships at the Nixon Library. We also have partnered with the Nixon Foundation and Nixon Library to create a "Civics" curriculum which will be available to school districts across California and the United States,
Under my guidance, the PYLUSD ensured that all students from all schools had the opportunity to attend outdoor science camps, not just students from select schools as done in the past.
Implemented a Parental Notification Policy to ensure parents are in the driver's seat of their children's education and are notified immediately of any "happenings" while at school.
I'm proud to say our school Board created a diploma pathway for special education students.
After thirty years of teachers and parents requests, walls were built in the classrooms at Travis Ranch Elementary School to create individual classrooms and remove the "open concept" approach where multiple teachers and their entire classes were in one large room. Why the requests of teachers at the school site for walls went unnoticed for over 29 years is ridiculous.
After thirty years of requests, lights were installed at the El Dorado High School football field. Athletes and their parents no longer have to travel to Valencia High School to practice their sport. They can now have access to their home field.
Opened the Orange County School of Computer Science at Bernardo Yorba, the district's first charter school.
Opened the Universal Sports Institute at Parkview, the district's first "sports academy".
Negotiated a multi-year contract with the teachers union to save money for the district.
Installed Beach Volleyball Courts at Esperanza High School and Valencia High School.
The School Board hired a permanent School Resource Officer (Anaheim PD) to ensure continued school safety at all high school campuses.
Opened paid pre-schools at Bryant Ranch, Wagner, Glenview, Tynes and Morse elementary schools.
Partnered with local law enforcement to make Narcan available on all campuses and provided training for parents, students and teachers
Provided incentives for teachers by matching "years of service" to educators interested in pursuing a teaching career in PYLUSD.
Under my leadership, The PYLUSD created additional coaches stipends for High School Sports to attract and retain the best coaching staff possible.
Created policy to ensure the district curriculum is taught in the classrooms and that supplemental curriculum aligns with district curriculum.
Created the district's first multi-cultural studies elective class.
Student enrollment is no longer declining, but has risen for the first time since 2017.
Over 4000 student interventions in the area of math which brought students to grade level after the Covid pandemic. We saw a 3 percent rise in test scores.
Provided Lot 318 in Placentia with teachers to tutor students in the after school program.
