My name is Leandra Blades and I am the current President of the Placentia-Yorba Linda Board of Education. 

I'm a wife, mom, retired police officer and community leader. I am also a member of the Republican Party of Orange County Central Committee.

In 2020 I ran to restore parental rights to our community and to remove politics, social justice and social issues that were creeping into our classroom and schools by Sacramento and the teachers union. 

I ran to create a student-centered school district for our community.  I believe our children should learn the core subjects to ensure they are preparing for their futures whether that is college, trade schools or wherever life takes them.  Politics and "adult issues" do not belong in the classrooms.

In 2020 I was elected to the Placentia-Yorba Linda Board of Education.  Over the past four years, returning programs and opportunities to our students has been my mission and I have delivered.  I advocated for money to return to the students, our classrooms and to programs so our students can thrive.  

When re-elected in November, I will continue to advocate for our community and I will continue to bring more programs and opportunities to our students and families.  Our families shouldn’t have to leave our community for opportunities, we have the means to provide innovation and opportunities right here in Placentia and Yorba Linda.  

We have talented teachers and administrators and there is no reason why we cannot provide a plethora of opportunities for the children of our community and the communities around us.  By returning to "traditional education" along with innovative schools and ideas, our enrollment for the first time since 2017 is no longer declining.

We are one of the few districts in California that is no longer dealing with declining enrollment and we have not had to lay off any teachers.  In fact, we just hired 93 teachers and have a waiting list of over 300 teachers who would like to have a career in our district.
